It was time to go shopping for a new toilet. I have compiled my parameters for a new toilet.
Standard Height (not Tall)
Round Bowl (not Elongated)
White
Cheap (not Expensive)
I first would do my Internet search based on my parameters, except price. That allowed me to select local stores where I could pick up the toilet. The problem with these stores’ websites is they list all the toilets that you can purchase from them. Which means they list out-of-stock, ship-to-store, and delivery options. So, it would require you to do a deeper dive.
I found the one I liked from our popular home improvement store. And even though Efiwym, my wife, said she did not care about price, she stated that she thought I could get a toilet for under one hundred dollars. Okay, maybe I needed to look further. My searches were giving me information overload. Too much information is NOT a good thing. I found toilets from different places that were similar and cheaper. I read the customer reviews. “Best toilet ever.” or “It is a piece of junk.” The toilet got 4.6 out of 5 stars, but I needed to get over the small number of negative reviews.
As I sat on the couch with my iPad® in my hands, I looked at Efiwym, and asked, “Am I being too particular with my requirements? What’s wrong with a tall toilet, or an elongated toilet? She looked at me and replied with a question, “Why are you making this such a hard decision? It is just a toilet. I told her that there are more options with a tall, elongated toilet and cheaper. Then, I heard the line from her again, “I do not care about price.” Yeah right. I was going to repeat her prior comments about cheaper toilets, but I was not going to take on that battle.
