The next day, as the sun shines down through the window of the door, I noticed something strange about the floor. Just as you entered the laundry room the flooring had wrinkles. I went down on my hands and knees and ran my hand across the floor. Yup, those were definitely wrinkles. Well, more like ripples. Either I applied too much adhesive, or the flooring did not adhere to the floor. The floor underneath was smooth, so I knew it was not the problem. The ripples did not compress, so it must have been excess adhesive.
I pointed out the issue to Efiwym, my wife. She concurred. Those were ripples.
I did not rent a flooring roller to roll out the floor after it was laid. I used a regular rolling pin that worked on multiple floors in the past. I usually get the excess adhesive oozing out of the edges of the flooring, and this time it wasn’t any different.
I immediately did my research on the world wide web. I found a solution that did not require me to remove the flooring. That was not going to happen. One suggestion was to use an iron to heat up the adhesive and maybe flatten out the flooring. I tried it by running a hot iron over the flooring with a towel to protect the floor. After multiple attempts, it looked better, but the ripples were still there.

I gave up at this point. Only Efiwym and I would know; I hope. I thought over time, maybe, just maybe, foot traffic would tamp down the ripples. It was official, I hated this project!
