After painting the powder room, Efiwym, my wife, was still not happy with one wall. Maybe I was going blind, but I was not seeing what she was seeing. She claimed she could see the old paint coming through the new paint. Relying on this trite cliche, “Happy wife, happy life,” I repainted the wall.
I also forgot to paint the sidelights for the front door. You could hardly see the paint job as the sidelights were clad with fiberglass storm windows. Nonetheless, it gave me the opportunity to remove the storm panels and wash the outside of the sidelight windows and the backside of the storm windows. The wood surround of the sidelights needed two coats of paint and I had the job finished by a Saturday afternoon.
Visiting family members were not in love with the color of the door. We told them that we were not in love with the color either, but the door needed to be painted. It would give us some time to either find some “oops” paint or, if necessary, buy the right green color. On to the next item on my “Honey Do” list.
