DIY Project – Installing Stone Countertops – My DIY Projects – Doing the Electrical –The Pendant Light Dilemma

When we went to the home improvement store, we found the replacement shade, but Efiwym, my wife started having doubts about the color of the shade.  She did not like the tan-colored shade.  So, we looked at the different options.  After much consideration, we decided to use the white glass shades we got with the pendant lights.  Additionally, she found another matching pendant light for over the sink.  And…we found a matching chandelier for the dinette.  We did come across a matching overhead light for the kitchen, but I nixed that because it only had 3 lights.  I really wanted better lighting in the kitchen and three 60-watt bulbs, I believe, did not cut it.

We put back the tan-colored shade and instead took the matching pendant light.  We looked for the box for the chandelier, but we could not find one.  We asked a salesclerk for help, and she searched the store inventory, and they were out of stock.  However, she found one in another store.  (We been here before with “having it at another store.”)  She called the store to verify and hold it for us.

Before we checked out and went to the other store, we shopped for an overhead light.  I found the one I wanted that would give off plenty of lumens.  It was just a round, LED fixture, but it had a bronze finish.  And since we were going with the white shades, this light had a white shade too.  In the cart it went, and we checked out and left to go get the other light.

When we got there, we went to customer service, and she contacted the lighting department to meet us there.  No one showed up, but we found the light sitting on a desk and we took it, checked out and went home. I needed to finish up the electrical.
